Both can be purchased online. Make sure to water more often since this creates a very free-draining media. It's also heavier than my usual mix, but if it grows this fabulous species better, I'm all for it!

(Gesnariaceae) Discovered in 2020, this critically endangered African Violet relative is easily grown indoors on a windowsill. The rectangular planter in the photo has been growing on my kitchen windowsill and blooming continuously for nine months! The cheerful purple flowers are further enhanced by beautifully marked foliage. It grows tubers underground which are easily divided to make more plants.

(Gesneriaceae)

Light: Shade.
