Subgenus Decaloba

Passiflora hyacinthiflora 2.5" pot

An absolutely charming vine!  Unlike any other passiflora species, it has a slender, succulent vine and loads of dark pink flowers with yellow filaments.  Really unusual and extremely hard to find.

Unfortunately, like many species native to the mountains of Columbia, P. hyacinthiflora has proved to be temperamental in cultivation.  It doesn't like conditions too warm and won't tolerate frost.  It is also a heavy feeder and will need some extra attention if you decide to try it!

Subgenus: Decaloba.  Since this is such a small species, it will be shipped in a 2.5" pot.

Light: Part shade.  This species really doesn't like direct sun or excessive heat.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: Heavy feeder.  A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is highly recommended unless you're very regular with fertilizer.

Hardiness: Zone 10.
