Passiflora venusta 4" pot

Gorgeous, rose-scented flowers are dark burgundy with purple and white banded filaments.  Of the passion flowers of this type (laurifolia type), Passiflora venusta seems to be the easiest to get to flower.  Excellent edible fruit if there is another passion vine to pollinate the flowers.

Subgenus: Passiflora, Section Laurifoliae.  Photo courtesy of Clay Dove.

Light: Full sun.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 11.
