XChiranthomontodendron lenzii 4" pot (XChiranthofremontia)

Beautiful, easily grown small tree that combines the best qualities of it's two parents: Chiranthodendron pentadactylon (from Mexico) and Fremontodendron 'Pacific Sunset' (from California).  Tolerates hot, dry conditions and bloom frequently throughout the year.  The flowers are golden chalices that are very striking.  Even without flowers, it's a tidy, attractively rounded, small tree.

(Malvaceae) Syn: XChiranthofremontia lenzii

Light:Full sun.

Water: Moderate.  Drought tolerant when established

Soil:  Average, but must be well-drained

Fertilizer: Occasional fertilizer.

Hardiness: USDA Zone 9, but does well in a container protected from frost.
