Indigo Dream Passion Flower.  Flowers are 4" across with lavender petals and logn, thick blackish-purple filaments.  The medium-sized vine has deep green leaves that are shaped like a hand.  Established vines will tolerate a slight frost and may sprout from the roots if the top is damaged. Tolerates heat.

Does 'Ok' in North Texas

I really like this vine, but overall its just 'Ok'. The vine itself is heat tolerant, but not the flower buds. I have had mine in the ground here for 5 years and it blooms for me here in the DFW area in spring and fall. From May to August I can probably count how many flower buds bloomed on 2 hands. It will drop about 90% or more of its buds before they ever get close to blooming, even with afternoon shade. Also, this vine seems to have a higher leaf turnover than most other passiflora, meaning a lot more litter. While the flowers are beautiful, and I am sure more enjoyable in a temperate area, I think I will replace it with another passion vine that blooms throughout the hot summer.
