The unique shape of the cells that make up the flowers cause them to shine in the light. The petals are very ruffled and fancy-looking on top of slim, elegant stems. The flowers last very well when cut, and make very elegant arrangements. One of the more hardy bulbs from South Africa, it is summer dormant and winter growing and blooms in the fall.
