Passiflora cincinnata (light blue) 4" pot

Very fragrant, light lavender flowers with long, wavy corona filaments. The flowers are 4" wide and, if pollinated by another passion flower, are followed by round, edible fruits that have very good flavor. Beautiful palmate leaves.  This is a large vine that likes heat and has proved to be a very valuable species for creating hybrids.  It is a parent of many fragrant Passiflora hybrids including P. 'Blue Velvet', P. 'Temptation', and P. 'Vivacemente.'

This clone is particularly a free-flowering selection on a very hefty vine.

Subgenus: Passiflora, Supersection: Passiflora, Section: Passiflora.

Light: Full sun, part shade.  There will be less flowers in part shade.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 11.
