Frederick Passion Fruit. A hybrid of Purple Passionfruit (Passiflora edulis edulis) Yellow Passionfruit (P. edulis flavicarpa), it has large red fruits with much larger flowers than P. edulis. It will also produce fruit without needing another passion flower to pollinate it. It is not as large and vigorous as some passiflora, so will do well in a large pot.
Subgenus: Passiflora, Supersection: Passiflora, Section: Passiflora.
Light: Full sun/part shade. If grown in part shade, there will be less flowers.
Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.
Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.
Hardiness: Zone 10.
