Mathews Passion Flower. Charming, 2.5" pendant flowers that are pink with a ring of violet in the center. In my experience, this is the easiest Tacsonia to grow and bloom in a pot. Unlike many passiflora in the Tacsonia group, P. mathewsii will even bloom in a 4" pot! Will not tolerate excessive heat. Photos courtesy of Dan Pogust.
Subgenus: Passiflora, Supersection: Tacsonia, Section: Tacsonia.
Light: Full sun, part shade. There will be less flowers in part shade.
Water: Moderate.
Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.
Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.
Hardiness: Zone 9.
