Blue Bouquet Passion Flower. Strongly fragrant and very easily grown hybrid has lavender flowers with a dark purple eye in the center. The attractive vine is very vigorous and tolerant of hot summers. Good choice for rapidly covering a trellis or fence.

Light: Full sun, part shade.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 8b.

update from 2020

After the last review, I have to say, Blue Bouquet made it through two more winters with the pot just pulled up next to the west wall of the house & lightly insulated. Unfortunately I had been using a long sheet of plastic to insulate several potted passion vines, & it blew off on a night when it went down to 16F. I bet planted in the ground next to the house it would have survived here in zone 8a. It didn't have the largest flowers of my hardy passion vine collection, but was so heat tolerant, floriferous & fragrant, that I definitely am going to purchase another.

Easy and hopefully pretty hardy

Purchased in 2018 and have been very happy with the vigor, heat tolerance, and cold resistance. Since I'm renting, I planted in a 24" clay pot to hide an ugly chain link fence. In full searing sun, it covered ten feet the first summer, bloomed beautifully, and the fragrance was enjoyed every time I walked past. I live in USDA zone 8a, but since it is in a pot, I was afraid to leave it completely exposed to winter lows of sometimes below 20F, so I moved it to a minimally heated greenhouse for winter. Wood rats got in and ate it to the root, but once it was outside again in April, it quickly sprouted and grew 15 ft in every direction. This past fall of 2019 I realized I no longer have room in the little greenhouse, so I moved the pot against a warm west wall & tried to insulate the pot, surrounding it with pots of dormant bulbs. We will see how it fared come March of 2020!
