Passiflora 'Satin Jacket' 4" pot

Satin Jacket Passion Flower. A new, cold-hardy passionflower from hybridizer Dan Pogust. Passiflora 'Satin Jacket' has 3-4", fragrant, lavender flowers with curly, banded filaments. The vine is vigorous with leathery, tri-lobed leaves that are dark green and overwinter in my zone 8a yard. In severely cold weather, the vine will die down to the ground and re-sprout in several places like its parent P. incarnata.  The flowers smell like chocolate!

(Passiflora incarnata x P. nephrodes)  Subgenus: Passiflora.

Light: Full sun, part shade.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 8.
