Subgenus Passiflora

Passiflora 'Betty Myles Young' 4" pot

This is an interesting polyploid hybrid with large, reflexed purple flowers and a dark ring around the center.   This is one of the passion flowers that resprouts from the roots, so it can tolerate a very stiff frost.  The vine is very vigorous and will provide rapid cover on a trellis or wall.

(Passiflora caerulea 'Clear Sky' x Passiflora loefgrenii 'Iporanga') Subgenus: Passiflora.  Myles Irvine's hybrid.

Light: Full sun, part shade.  There will be less flowers in part shade.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 8b.

From day one this has been the easiest to grow. I find the color blotchy. The leaves are a deep green. In 2 years it has filled half of a very large and mature Jacaranda. No scent.
