Passiflora morifolia 4" pot

Small white flowers with a ring of mauve around the center adorn this dark green attractive vine.  Although a passion vine, the leaves are similar to a cucumber plant complete with velcro-like stickiness! Unripe fruit is poisonous but very beautiful: dark purple outside and bright red seeds.

Subgenus: Decaloba, Section: Pseudodysosmia.  Food plant for Longwing butterflies Heleconius charitonia and Dione moneta.

Light: Full sun, part shade.  There will be less flowers in part shade.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 11.
