Passiflora rovirosae 4" pot

Lovely, lush leaves and bright red, torpedo-shaped fruits are the main attractions offered by this rare offering to the Passiflora obsessed!  The vine is tinged with red and has a very attractive form that branches freely and doesn't get untidy or leggy like some passiflora.  The flowers are relatively small, white and have lavender centers with yellow-tipped filaments.  Excellent choice for a frost-free, larger hanging basket.

Subgenus: Decaloba, Section: Xerogona.  Food plant for Longwing butterflies Euptoieta hegesia and Eueides aliphera.

Light: Full sun, part shade.  There will be less flowers in part shade.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 11.
