Poortmannia (Trianaea) speciosa 4" pot

Size

Extremely rare Solandra relative. Large, sprawling liana with thick, succulent leaves and large greenish, purple tinged, bell-shaped flowers.

The fruit is reputed to be edible and tasty, but I have not been able to get my plant to bloom so far.  I'm not sure if it needs different conditions or simple needs to be bigger.  It is large and healthy and has been easy to grow.

Native to upper elevations in South America.

(Solanaceae)

Light: Full sun

Water: Average to drought tolerant

Soil: Well-drained soil that is top-dressed with compost.

Fertilizer: All-purpose

Hardiness: Zone 12. Protect from frost until we know more about its needs.
