Passiflora cyanea 4" pot

Finally, the real species of Passiflora cyanea is for sale! For years Passiflora retipetala was distributed in the United States as Passiflora cyanea and the two species are closely related. Passiflora cyanea has opposite coloration with a purplish center and white tips to the corona filaments.  The vine is rather heavy with thick, leathery leaves tinged in purple.

Subgenus: Passiflora, Supersection: Stipulata, Section: Granadillastrum.

Light: Full sun.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 11.
