Passiflora penduliflora 4" pot

Definitely distinctive! Pendulous apple-green flowers open at night to be pollinated by bats in the rain forests on Cuba and Jamaica. At about 2 inches, Passiflora penduliflora is one of the larger-flowered passiflora in subgenus Decaloba. Attractive, duck-foot shaped leaves are medium green and rather leathery. It is not a picky species, but will not tolerate frost.

Subgenus: Decaloba, Supersection: Decaloba, Section: Decaloba.

Light: Full sun, part shade.  There will be less flowers in part shade.

Water: Moderate.

Soil: A wide range of soil, but it must be well-drained.

Fertilizer: A slow-release, bloom-booster type fertilizer is appreciated, but beware of using a fertilizer with too much nitrogen as it may push leaves at the expense of flowers.

Hardiness: Zone 11.
